I love the contrast between the sharp, bright, lucid sensations of Chautauqua and the Covid-induced brain and body fog that follows. In a nutshell, don't we inhabit that alternating worlds of clarity and fog?

Those contrasts—light and dark, ecstasy and misery, fog and clarity, well and ill—all within the span of a single week, were indeed what made my experience stand out in such relief from the day-to-day. I will say, in hindsight and with perspective of more time, those opposites smudge and blend together into a picture-perfect whole.
